Member Profiles

What about having member profiles with interests and skills etc., and means to browse a member list?

last seen?

Great, I like the browser with the pictures. If I look at a member's profile, I can see how long he/she has been a member. But it also could be informative to see how often he/she logs in and how active one is. So I thought maybe it would helpful to display a "last seen" information as well.

Browse members and find editors

I have added a nice way of browsing ICADers, all with pictures, so you finally can look up who you sat next to during the banquet. Check it out here. Also, I thought it makes sense to point those out who are able to change the static content of ICAD.org - your editors This turns into facebook for icad ;-)

Full names

It would be useful to include member full names in the profiles

done

Yes, good suggestion. For those not using their full name as username, I added a Full Name field to the profile. Chris

Linking your papers into your profile

Wouldn't it be nice if your papers would be just a click away from your profile?

Here is how:

In your Interests section, create a link to

biblio/author/YourSurname

This automatically returns all papers stored in the bibliography that were authered by you. This is how this looks (for me anyway...)

OK

Ok, I like it! But there are some strange HTML tags in the "interests" box. Or did I make something wrong? What about picture? Could be very informative about a person when a small picture is displayed.

At your service...

The strange html tags in your description resulted most probably from you copying the information from another web-page. The editor is "too" clever and tries to copy the formatting too... However, if you see such things a good way to check what is going on is pressing the HTML button in the editor. This will pop up a source code window and you may see what is going on.

And, you can now put your pictures up!

Done

All members can now add information about their affiliation, interests and projects to their profile. Just use the "My account" menu item on the left to get there.

That information is also available to the public (without authentication) through a search function for members. Check it out here.

good idea

Good idea, I will look into this and see if thats feasible...

Member profiles

I think this is a really good idea. It doesn't have to be much, just like, name, institution, affilation, address details, personal homepage link (or maybe link to the publications), research area other personal interests.

And, oh, if we upload a small picture, people will remember easily saying "oh, that is this funny Hungarian guy I sat with the table at dinner!".

member profiles

it would be a good idea to have a list of all subscribed members to scroll down, sorted in two ways: firts, members who have added content to their profile (I see many profiles without further information about them it looks not reall serious just to see how long people are subscribed, but nothing else)second, alphabethical ordering. appart from that I like the new site!!!
